Dead Sea Scrolls

Had a delightful visit to see the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum. This was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon over 2010's Easter Break. Impressive displays and clear descriptions helped to make this an insightful visit. Curious as to how our 10 year old son would enjoy this exhibit, so kudos to Jacob for reading everything and for engaging the material. Have you seen this exhibit and what struck you about it?

I did see the exhibit at the museum, but saw the real thing in Jerusalem in 2008. The museum building there is actually shaped like the cover to one of the clay jars the scrolls were found in! We also saw the cave where the scrolls were found by a young boy throwing stones inside of it. The whole area is very rocky and hilly with caves dotting the area, and is adjacent to the Dead Sea for which the scrolls are named. That is the lowest spot on earth. It was so exciting to see the way God preserved His Word throughout the centuries!
